As you know, like all forms of mole extermination, our treatment can't be guaranteed. But, when mole traps and poisons have failed you for years, our treatment gives you about a 70% chance of Mole Free Success.

As rain gradually washes the treatment down to the level that’s attracting moles, often 6’ down, you’ll likely begin to see moles’ behavior change as they enter the “freak out” phase where they can get worse before they get better in response to the treatment. This is stressful to watch but often means moles are responding, which is what you hope for.

Often, moles may B-Line out, or maybe move to different parts of the lot as they figure things out, or they may even show their stress by churning up the soil, or, in areas around removed or sick trees, an increase in mounds can occur as rain seepage forces moles to deeper “mole magnet” roots until moles often run out of space and leave.

However, once the treatment seeps down, any change in mole behaviour is often good as it's often a sign that moles are responding to the treatment and evacuation has likely begun. We can’t know how fast moles will begin to respond however, it’s normally dependant on 2 things: 1) how much rain we get & 2) how deep your “mole magnets” are in your soil. With this type of “mole magnet” infestation, soil treatment is the only method that’s effective so your chances of mole free success are good. However, if you're one of the 30% that don't have success, you can go back to the extermination that's never worked for you, but you're likely stuck with your moles.

What Can You Do To Help Your Own Mole Free Effort?

Because mole infestation is often man-made, there are several things a homeowner can do to help avoid worsening their infestation:

  1. Water Regularly: Normally 2 times week is optimal. Letting nature water your lawn or watering every day is just begging for moles.
  2. Water Evenly: Poorly set irrigation heads makes some areas much wetter than others. Moles love this type of moisture imbalance.
  3. Take care of your trees & don't remove healthy trees.
  4. Fix drainage issues on your property as sitting water eventually draws in moles.
  5. Avoid pesticides like grub-ex as this can make your soil susceptible to infestation over time.
  6. Use sod sparingly as moles are highly attracted to sod.
